Guiness and Maß makes the irish in Bavaria wunder happy
Munich is the biggest St. Patrick’s celebration in Europe. The reason? unknown. But the Irish feel at home in Munchen. Might be the beer, but what is sure is that the pub crawl is designed to make the most of the green energy around town: it connects iconic must go places like a train of fun. This is not your typical tourist trap where you just dress in green and want to get really drunk. It is the opposite: a marathon of really well-chosen places to have fun, meet new people, and maybe find love, mixing Celtic music, DJs, and a touch of German techno. Might be the beer, but what is sure is that our bar crawl Munich is designed to make the most of the green energy around town: it connects iconic must go places like a train of fun.

A long long time ago, people on a remote island celebrated St. Patrick’s Day. It began as a feast day for Saint Patrick and with time the Feast became a festivity and today it is a global celebration of Irish Folklore and beer. Munich fits in this tradition like a glove. People party as an excuse to celebrate the end of wintery times and start enjoying the spring energy.
Learn one toast — Sláinte — and choose a plan that keeps the night moving. A good St. Patrick’s party must have music, drinks, a social energy and at least one moment where the whole group sings or cheers together. In Munich, a pub crawl is an ideal recommendation to experience what these two cultures celebrate in common.
It’s not such a weird question as it might look. No colour is automatically offensive everywhere, but Orange has some of the political and religious associations in Irish history. In a party setting, it is best not to use orange as a provocation or costume joke. For Munich, keep it simple: green clothes or any Bavarian oktoberfest dress also works.
In germany, the luckiest thing is to say yes to the night early. Raise a proper Sláinte (prost), talk to someone you do not know yet and follow the group as a band of wild leperchauns. A shamrock accessory helps the look, but the real luck is social: joining the right crowd. In Munich, that means turning the city’s green celebration into your own pub crawl story.
